Awc Reopens
December 22, 2013
The Alfred-Washburn Center (AWC) reopened with limited service on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. This was made possible by dedicated volunteers and clients who have put in long hours over the past week. Thanks to all who helped to get us back in service. Saint Paul's Catholic Church Feed my Sheep ministry served a hot meal which was welcomed by the clients. The re-opening was attended by the Most Reverend Gregory Parkes, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. The temporary trailer and associated utilities will be an extra financial burden on the AWC until a decision is made concerning rebuilding the service house. The AWC can always use more volunteers (we are a 100% volunteer organization, no one gets paid) and of course financial help.
